WHAT'S UP?

• RESEARCH: I finished my book this summer, and it's due for publication in spring 2010 by Continuum books. I also completed an article on Hip Hop love ballads (with my co-author Jamel Bell), which is due to be published later in 2009.
  
• RESEARCH: In 2008, I published three research articles. One was about the Rigoberta Menchu controversy, another was on the influence of Latinos/Hispanics on early rock 'n' and garage rock, and the third on the influence of "Border Radio" and popular music in U.S. history and culture. Check out my "Research & Publications" page for details.
  
• TEACHING: In the summer of 2008, I led a class of Boston College students to Madrid, Spain for a summer class in Intercultural Communication. [Photo.]
