This is a sample of a family activity that can also be done in the classroom.
Dear Parent or Caregiver,
During our math lessons, we continue to learn about shapes with the help of Teeny and her friends. In Story 4, Teeny the Turtle and Red Wagon were traveling to Figure City for the Shape Family Parade. On their way they met many interesting shapes and discussed which shape family they might belong to (Circle, Triangle, or Rectangle). All of the shapes were invited to climb aboard and ride Red Wagon to Shape City. The shape families were excited as they talked about playing their musical instruments in the Marching Band. Each shape family plays a different instrument.
All of the shape families were practicing their music when suddenly they hit a great big bump in the road and all of the shapes flew out of the wagon. The shapes needed to be sorted into their shape families in order to continue practicing their family's music. Please help your child sort the shapes back into their shape families.
