Curriculum Vitae Kevin P. Duffy EDUCATION Ph.D., Higher Education Administration, Boston College M.S., Counseling Psychology, Fordham University B.A., Philosophy, Cathedral College EXPERIENCE Dr. Kevin P. Duffy is currently Assistant Professor and Director of Internships in the Higher Education Graduate Program in the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. Prior to joining the faculty on a full-time basis, Dr. Duffy was Vice President for Student Affairs at Boston College from 1976 through 2000. He oversaw 10 departments serving 14,500 students. These departments included: AHANA Student Programs, Career Center, Counseling, Dean for Student Development Office, First Year Experience, Health and Medical Services, Housing, Learning Resources for Student Athletes, Learning to Learn, and the Robsham Theater Arts Center. While Vice President, he chaired an array of building program committees at Boston College in the area of student life. These included committees for three different student centers, the Cone Forum basketball and ice hockey arena, and six residence halls. Before becoming Vice President, Dr. Duffy was Director of Housing (1970-1976) and Director of Student Activities and the McElroy Student Commons (1968-1970) at Boston College. PRESENTATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT Dr. Duffy has made more than sixty presentations at regional and national conferences of the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators (JASPA) and various other professional associations. Other professional involvements include: § Past President of the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators (JASPA) § Past President of the Boston Association of College Housing Administrators (BACHA) § Past Region I Vice President of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators § Local Arrangements Chair for NASPA 1982 National “Dare to Dream” Conference in Boston § Co-Director of Six Senior Student Affairs Officers’ Retreats in NASPA Region I § Participant in eight college accreditation teams or visitation committees § Recipient of multiple awards for service and leadership from professional associations from Boston College including: - NASPA’s Pillar of the Profession Award - Fr. Victor R. Yanitelli, S.J.
