Fabio Ghironi


Introduction


I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Boston College, a Faculty Research Fellow in the International Finance and Macroeconomics Program of the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a Fellow of the Euro Area Business Cycle Network.

I am also an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Economics, the U.S. Associate Editor of International Finance, and an Associate Editor of economics – The Open-Access, Open-Assessment E-Journal.

My fields of research are international macroeconomics, macroeconomics, and monetary economics.

I usually teach undergraduate macroeconomics in the fall semester at Boston College, first-year graduate macroeconomics and a second-year graduate topics class in the spring.

I also coordinate the R@BC (Research at Boston College) Workshop.

 

I received my Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. The title of my dissertation was "Essays on Economic Interdependence."  My dissertation committee was:

Barry Eichengreen (Co-chair),
Maurice Obstfeld (Co-chair),
David Romer,
Andrew K. Rose.

Prior to that, I received a Laurea in Economic and Social Sciences and a Master in Economics from Bocconi University, Milan.

Francesco Giavazzi was my advisor.
