Mission Statement

The primary goal for NALSA during our inaugural year is to bring together students interested in the issues that Native American, Alaskan Native and indigenous communities face all around the Americas. These issues include political, economic and land rights, environmental justice, and cultural preservation. Through educational programs such as lectures by notable authorities in Native American legal affairs, panels, and community service and immersion activities, NALSA hopes to address these issues and to foster a community of educated law students who are not only willing to learn about these issues, but are also committed to educating each other and the Boston College Law community as a whole. With this knowledge we hope to cultivate lawyers who develop and maintain a lifelong commitment to native communities and the issues they face.
