Background:
John W. Lewis, III received a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and a
Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University.
Before joining academia, Dr. Lewis spent eleven years as a human resources
manager with TRW, Inc. Since coming to Boston College in 1970 he has served
as the chairperson of the department and the acting dean of the Graduate
School of Management. Currently, he is the advisor to Beta Gamma Sigma,
the business honor society. Dr. Lewis has consulted for numerous profit
and non-profit organizations. He has served as faculty coordinator for
Development of Entrepreneurs in Boston for Ireland Program, a joint venture
between Boston College and Ulster University.
Research Interests
Dr. Lewis's interests have focused on managerial effectiveness, especially
at the middle management levels, the use of hypermedia in teaching, mergers
and acquisitions, and collateral organizations.
