    Academic journals offer articles written by scholars and experts in the field. Research is well-documented, and sources are cited in footnotes and bibliographies.
    Examples: Feminist Studies; Journal of Political Economy; Journal of Healthcare Management
  • News, Trade, & General Interest Magazines
    News, trade, and general interest magazines are aimed at general audiences or at professionals involved in or interested in a particular subject. Articles are not research-based -- though they may report on scholarly research.
    Examples: Time; Advertising Age;
    The Economist; Parenting; Jet
