Fun With Words

Acronymns
Here are a couple of old ones I made up in the 80s. They've lost their topicality. Younger folks might have to hit the history books to get the references.

And this one, submitted to NPR for a contest calling for a sentence of 26 words beginning with the 26 letters of the alphabet in order.

Word Play Puzzle
Follow this link for a puzzle I submitted for an annual day-long puzzle party I participate in each year. There are two sets of 26 book titles, songs, proverbs, etc. The trick is to figure out which book, song, etc. on the left goes with which one on the right. When you figure out how they match, the next trick is to find the five pairs that stand out from the others and rearrange the 10 letters of those five pairs to spell out the name of a large American city. There are clues on the page, but you may have to ask me for more.

Anagrams

I have a more extensive list of anagrams I made up. I'll have to find it and add it here. In the meantime, here are a few:

Boston Red Sox = Ode to Bronx SS
Boston Red Sox = Sox or SOB Dent
Curse of the Bambino = Hub's October Famine
