In this course, students investigate the state and federal systems of trademark law. This study examines doctrine, theory, practice, and procedure. In particular, students are introduced to various aspects of trademarks, including trademark creation, registration, protection, and litigation. The class also explores other, more general theories of unfair competition, including the law of trade secrets, misappropriation, the right of publicity, and restraints on the use of confidential information.
