Dear Student Teacher, Cooperating Teacher and Clinical Supervisor,

Welcome to the Boston College Practicum Office Team! You are about to enter an exciting three-way partnership between supervisor, student and cooperating teacher. This triad, supported by the Boston College community, Faculty, and Staff share a noble mission: the professional growth and development of teachers whose training is rooted in knowledge, guided by reflective practice and nurtured by effective supervision.

Collectively we strive to move the pre-service teacher along a developmental continuum toward a thoughtful, self-directed professional who can rise to the many challenges posed by today's schools.

Toward that end, we pledge to each of you our full support and energy in helping you to explore and enhance the skills necessary for accepting the challenges of mentoring, supervising and learning the standards of a vital and essential profession.
