The EagleEyes Project was named a 2006 Tech Award Laureate in the area of Education. "The Tech Awards program inspires global engagement in applying technology to humanity's most pressing problems by recognizing the best of those who are utilizing innovative technology solutions to address the most urgent critical issues facing our planet. In 1998, Dr. Olivieri was seleted by the School of Management faculty for the Distinguished Senior Faculty Award given annually a a faculty member who has contrubted to the growth of the school and his colleagues.

In 1997, he was chosen by the university student body to receive the Mary Kaye Waldron award, given annually to a faculty member who is both an outstanding teacher and represents the spirit of Boston College through their involvement within the university.

He was co-developer of the EagleEyes system, a combination of computer hardware and software that allows a user to control activity on their computer screen with their eyes.  This system was a finalist in the 1994 Discover Magazine’s Most Innovative Technology of the Year.
