Andrew
Sofer is an assistant professor of English at Boston College,
where he teaches Renaissance drama, modern drama, and creative
writing. In addition to a Ph.D. in English, he holds an M.F.A.
in Directing and is interested in performance as an aid to
textual interpretation. His publications include The Stage
Life of Props (University of Michigan Press, 2003) and
articles on Shakespeare, Kyd, Miller, Beckett, and Williams.
A widely published poet, he has received awards from Southwest
Review, Atlanta Review, and The Lyric.
