Victory Briefs Daily, the newsletter for Lincoln-Douglas debate, reports on Jonathan Koppell's as-yet-unbroken record established during his 1988 run of the high school speech-and-debate circuit (November 28, 2007). 
In 1996 the DSCC recruited "Kerrey's Millionaires," rich businessmen who had an unblemished record (no victories!) in their Senate races. In 2008 the NRCC hopes for better luck as they field a slate of self-financed challengers in competitive House districts.  Professor Steen comments in The Hill  (November 9, 2007).
