This is an exercise in analyzing relationships among categorical
data. We will use the dataset describing students’ attitudes towards the environment
(dataset = site2345678r.sav) to describe the
data.
- Let
us hypothesize that your class affects whether you or a close friend is active
in environmental issuess. Do a crosstab of Class affecting Active. Ask for
observed cell counts and percentage down the columns and do a chi-square test.
(You can round down the significance level to .05). What do you find?
- Do the
crosstab again, but this time ask for the observed count and the standardized
residuals. What do they tell you?
