As a librarian in the Thomas P. O'Neill, Jr. Library at Boston
College I have two roles. I work in one capacity as Manager of
Circulation Services and in another capacity as a bibliographer for
Irish Studies. Circulation Services is a division of the larger
Access Services Department. This department includes the
Circulation Desk, stacks maintenance, Reserves Services, Interlibrary
Loan and the Document Services Center. The link below describes
services and policies related to circulation services.

In my role as bibliographer for Irish Studies I serve the faculty,
students, staff members and guests who are in any way involved with
Irish Studies at Boston College. Service to this community
involves purchasing materials relevant to Irish Studies and research,
providing instruction in the use of library resources and answering
reference questions. An important part of providing instruction
is the creation of web pages that serve as research guides for major
subject areas in Irish Studies. The photo above is a picture of
Connolly House, the home of Irish Studies and Irish Programs at Boston
College. The links below are samples of such guides that my colleague
Beth Sweeney and I developed.
