Student Floer Theory Seminar
Our goal is to get to better understand the relationship between contact structures and sutured Floer homology, with an eye on Etnyre, Vela-Vick, Zarev's paper about "limit" invariants. (Also, all seminar communication will be in ALL CAPS.)
October 2: Adam, Contact structures and open books.
October 9: Melissa, Knots and surfaces in contact three-manifolds.
October 16: (AT 2:30 BECAUSE OF JOSH'S CLASS) Melissa, More on knots and surfaces in contact three-manifolds.
October 23: Tyson, Sutured manifolds and Floer homology.
October 30: Tyson, More sutured manifolds and Floer homology.

November 2: (ON MONDAY BECAUSE OF JOSH'S CLASS) Lev, Partial open books.
November 13: Adam, Gluing maps on sutured Floer homology.
Our theme is "Applications of Heegaard Floer Homology". Here is a good MathOverflow post with some ideas for talks.
February 13: Adam, Heegaard Floer homology beyond the definition.
February 25: Adam, Cobordisms and triangles
March 6: Spring break!
March 13: Peter, Sutured Floer Homology and genus
March 20: Radu spoke about the proof of Property R via Floer homology yesterday, so we'll discuss that today.
March 27: Radu, TBD
April 1: Diana will tell us about the Tau invariant. (Note the Wednesday date!)
April 10: Lev will tell us about Floer homology and contact stuff.
April 17: Merve will tell us even more about contact stuff!
We'll be working through the new English translation of Audin and Damian's Morse Theory and Floer Homology. We meet Fridays at 3 in the Grad Lounge. Bring your analysis game-face!
