Please note: You must be logged into ARTstor in order to unlock folders.

  1. Select "Unlock password-protected folder" from ARTstor's "Find" menu (in the light green area near the top of the ARTstor window).

  2. Enter your name and the password (which the folder creator must provide to you), and click "Submit."

  3. Click on the "Folders & Image Groups" icon in the center of the ARTstor homepage.
  4. View ARTstor Folders icon

  5. Once the "Open an image group" window, you should see a folder called "Unlocked Folders"; the newly unlocked folder should be nested within that folder. Click on the plus sign in the folder symbol to view the contents of that folder, and double-click on image group names to view the image groups themselves.

You will only need to unlock a password-protected folder once. It will remain unlocked for you as long as the folder creator does not change the status of the folder.
