Erin Rutherford

Patrick is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and joined the Lowery Lab in September 2013 as a student at BC. Pat graduated in May 2015 with a BS in Biochemistry. He spent his first year after graduation working in the Lowery Lab as a research assistant from May 2015- July 2016. Pat is currently attending medical school at the University of Pittsburg.

Andrew gruaduated BC in May 2016 with a Biology major and Computer Science and Math minors. He worked in the Lowery Lab from February 2014 to May 2016. He is currently attending graduate school at the Brain and Cognitive Science Department at MIT.

Claire graduated BC in May 2016, double majoring in Biology and English. She was a member of the Lowery Lab from September 2014 until December 2015, where she gained hands-on research experience and mentorship. After she graduates, Claire hopes to attend a Post-Bac program at Tufts University before moving on to medical school.

Chris Lucaj

Matt graduated BC in May 2015 with a BS in Biology. He worked in the Lowery Lab from November 2013 to May 2015 and will be attending medical school at Oxford University in Fall of 2016. Matt received a poster award from the North East Society of Developmental Biology, the McCarthy Prize for Top Natural Science Thesis in the Morissey College of Arts and Sciences, and the Goldwater Scholar Award.

Charlie graduated BC in 2015 with a BS in Biochemistry. He worked in the Lowery Lab from October 2013 to May 2015 and is currently employed as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Icahn School of Medicine Tisch Cancer Institute.

Joseph Volk
Previous Undergraduate Research Assistant
Sal graduated BC in May 2015 with a BS in Biology. He began working in the Lowery Lab in August 2013. Prior to August, Sal worked in the Van Vactor Lab at Harvard for the summer. He also helped Dr. Lowery with the transition from Harvard to BC. Sal worked in the Lowery Lab until May 2014 and is currently doing research at Boston Medical Center.

Sal D'Amico

Belinda is originally from Santa Rosa, CA. She graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in May 2013 with a BS in Biology and Biotechnology. Belinda worked with Dr. Lowery as a Research Project Manager from September 2013 to May 2015. In Spring 2015, she left to attend medical school at St. George University in Grenada.

Belinda Nwagbara
Previous Research Project Manager
After receiving her BS in Plant Sciences at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Tiffany worked at The Morton Arboretum, a conservation and research institution near Chicago, for five years. In 2011, she earned a MS in Plant Pathology at Michigan State University in a program focused on pathogen epidemiology and disease management. Her research interest led to a position with a plant breeding company in central Pennsylvania, and then in the Lowery Lab. Tiffany joined the team in August 2013, overseeing lab management and assisting in research projects. In July 2014, Tiffany left the lab to take her dream job as the Supervisor of Plant Production at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University in Boston, MA.

Tiffany Enzenbacher

Anna graduated with a BS in Biology from UC Berkeley. She began working with Dr. Lowery during her summer vacations beginning in May 2011, providing awesome support in all aspects of research. She joined the Lowery Lab from November 2013 until April 2014 to assist in getting research projects off the ground. She is now attending medical school at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, which she began in Fall 2014.

Anna Faris
Previous Research Assistant
Alina worked with Dr. Lowery from March 2012 to December 2013, and was instrumental in multiple aspects of Dr. Lowery's research program, assisting in everything from neuronal culturing to confocal microscopy to solution-making to frog husbandry to lab organization and ordering. Alina graduated Northeastern University in May 2015 and is now a Clinical Research Assistant at Tufts University.

Alina Stout
Previous Research Assistant

Dr. Parodi is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Goode lab at Brandeis University and is studying the mechanistic basis of actin-microtubule crosstalk in neurons. She is collaborating with the Lowery lab, and more specifically working with the team to investigate the role of a protein in neural explants that binds microtubules in directly controlling formin-mediated actin polymerization.

Goode Lab, Brandeis University
Gary McDowell is a postdoctoral researcher at Tufts University. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, he holds BA and MSci degrees in Natural Sciences (Chemistry) from the University of Cambridge, UK, and studied protein folding before beginning a PhD in Oncology, also at the University of Cambridge. He studied the role of protein modification and degradation in neurogenesis, using the frog Xenopus as a model system, with Anna Philpott. He then undertook two years of postdoctoral research at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School learning mass spectrometry and proteomics with Hanno Steen before moving to the Biology Department at Tufts, where he is currently researching the role of the cytoskeleton in left-right body patterning during embryo development.

Jackson Bowers

Jackson graduated BC in May 2017 with a major in Finance and minor in Biology. He worked in the Lowery Lab from January 2015 to May 2017. In fall 2017, Jackson will be working as an Associate Consultant for Putnam Associates here in Boston.
