Knowing where the patient currently resides may be helpful in order to be aware of resources that may be available to indigent or uninsured patients for the costs of prescription medications.

 

Knowing whether the patient lives or has lived in an area in which insecticides or other toxic agents are prevalent may be useful in knowing if these agents possibly could affect microsomal or other enzymes that affect drug metabolism or affect functioning of liver or other organs.
