Patrick Orson About me

I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Boston College.

After completing my BA in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, I took Part III. I then worked for a PhD as a student of Professor Andrew Ranicki at the University of Edinburgh, where I studied Surgery Theory and high-dimensional knots.

After my PhD I began to focus more on low-dimensional topology. From January 2015 I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Durham University. In November and December of 2016 I was a visitor at the HIM in Bonn as part of the Junior Hausdorff Trimester Program in Topology. For the first half of 2017 I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at CIRGET in Montreal, and teaching at McGill University.
