Vera Lee has authored ten books and numerous articles ranging from literary criticism, biography and social history to cooking, crime and ballroom dancing. Her articles have appeared in Harvard Magazine, Planning, Drama and Theatre, the Boston Phoenix, the Globe, Tab and elsewhere.

Formerly a university professor and chairman of her department, she has also served as Executive Director of the French Library in Boston, a panelist for the National Endowment for the Humanities and has been a professional actress. She was named Officier des Arts et Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture and has been awarded the Palmes Académiques by the French Ministry of Education.

In the coming months Sourcebooks, Inc., will publish a second edition (paperback) of Lee's popular Something Old, Something New: What you Didn't Know About Wedding Ceremonies, Celebrations and Customs.
