Tom,

For however briefly, it was good seeing you today. I hope the team did well and, of course, I hope all is well with you.

As I have heard from a couple of the guys, the team is setting milestones already this year. It seems the recruiting effort has intensified and the freshmen class is far superior than of previous years. I am happy for the program and hopeful for its successin the future.

As I sent you in a previous e-mail this past summer, I am teaching in the South Bronx, New York with a program called Teach For America. The experience is challenging and trying at times, but I am learning about myself and the art of teaching and helping others.

I am currently in the process of trying to organize fundraisers in order raise money so that my students can go to Egypt for a week during which they will learn about the culture while also learning about the inequities that make life in other countries so difficult and life in our country such a blessing.

This experience, I hope, has a lasting and transformative impact upon my students. I was hoping the swim team could assist in some way, either through influence at the BC Athletic office or through other fundraising efforts. What do you think?

Anyway, it is good to be at BC this weekend, seeing friends, reminiscing, and enjoying a break from the hustle and bustle of New York. Thanks for everything once again and be happy to know I got back in the pool for the first time this past week and am still superior in comparison to paltry recreation swimmers, thankfully.

Best,

Creighton Davis
